How blessed I was to have my sweet husband. As I entered chemo therapy I was told it would be a short time until my hair started coming out. So I got it cut short. Then the clumps started appearing in the shower. But before that, on his own initiative, Tom went to get his head shaved. We did this together every step of the way.

Donna with Christa Bush, RN, MSN who was the Nurse Coordinator for my Oncologist at Siteman Center for Advanced Medicine, Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Washington University School of Medicine. This picture was taken when my hair started coming back in. What a tremendous team I had as my caregivers. God allowed us to share encouragement and be a blessing to each other.

Donna and Tom Turpin made each trip for chemo, surgery, radiation or check ups into an adventure. They always tried to go to a different "favorite" restaurant on each trip. It is important to have little milestones to look forward to and make memories.

We all have a testimony. No one can dispute it. You have lived it. You know it better than anyone else. And it is yours to share.

I challenge you to make sharing your testimony a tangible part of your life as you look forward to the next "divine appointment".

On the surface it may look like an inconvenient interruption in your day and plans -- but God may use you mightily to help others starting with a smile, a greeting, or opening a door.

The difficulties we face in life are battles for our minds, bodies and souls.
- BUT - Jesus is greater than anything that we go through. He has promised if we seek Him we will find Him and He will never leave us or forsake us.

I was surprised to learn that not everyone who survives a difficult season victoriously - like me being healed of cancer - reacts with joy.

Some stay sad, confused, angry and have difficulty coping. Some just can't trust God that they can truly move on with their lives. Maybe they don't know that's an option.

I believe the difference for me was the Jesus factor. God helped me see that I was being given an opportunity to model great faith during the cancer health season in 2013.

It was an amazing journey and a great gift in many ways.
This set apart time helped me to think differently and set new priorities. My marriage grew stronger. And my family was always and ever supportive.

Jesus allowed me to give away many books and pamphlets, pray for people, and speak faith to more people in that one year than most of my entire life. And on return visits for check ups the process continues - me giving away whatever I'm reading if they ask, proclaiming that God has healed me and I celebrated my third year cancer free with excellent numbers in 2016 and more. One person CAN change the atmosphere within a waiting room if the light of Jesus is shining within them.

There are special people for you to meet and witness to also.
On my 2013 walk through cancer I became friends with the "gown girls", my tremendous radiation team, people I knew by first name only at the American Cancer Center Hope Lodge where I lived free for six weeks of radiation,and long-time friends watched me step through in faith - great faith.

All by the power, love and blood of Jesus and the ever present Holy Spirit under the guidance of our loving Abba Father God.

I give Him great praise forever and ever amen.
