KERR TITHE

The Alexander Kerr story of God's faithfulness when he tithed on his business.
- Alexander Kerr experienced God's provision and protection through fire, earthquake and more of his Kerr glass manufacturing company from which he tithed. Mr. Kerr became a Christian and learned of God’s fulfillment of blessing to Jacob for tithing then applied the principle to his personal life and that of the new business he had started ─ Kerr Glass Manufacturing Company. When earthquake and fire consumed most of the buildings and businesses around the region many thought he was surely ruined financially as his inventory was glass inside a wooden, oil soaked building. Mr. Kerr learned of the earthquake while away and was told his business was in the heart of the fire. An article in The Herald of His Coming titled Circumstances Cannot Break God’s Promises noted: “At the time of the San Francisco earthquake (1906) this firm was manufacturing his fruit jars…. Mr. Kerr immediately boarded a train for San Francisco. This factory was a two-story wooden building containing the huge tanks where the glass was melted. These tanks were kept at extremely high temperatures. Oil was used for fuel, and therefore this building was the most inflammable in San Francisco. The fire had raged on all sides of this glass factory, creeping up to the wooden fence surrounding the building and even scorching it. Then the flames and fire leaped around and over and beyond the building, burning everything in its path. However, not even the wooden fence was burned, nor the building, and not a single glass jar was cracked by earthquake or fire. This was nothing short of a miracle of God’s divine power in protecting this man who held his faith that God’s promises made to those who tithe would never be broken by any circumstances! God’s Word cannot return to Him void (Isa. 55:8-11) 2….” Click here to read the full reprinted article of the amazing Kerr story 1 The Herald of His Coming titled Circumstances Cannot Break God’s Promises, reprinted November, 2008 from earlier issues, https://heraldofhiscoming.org/index.php/read-the-herald/past-issues/181-past-issues/2008/nov08/2140-circumstances-cannot-break-god-s-promises-11-08
2 Holy Bible KJV, BibleGateway.com, Isa. 55, v. 8-11 , King James Version (KJV), www.BibleGateway.com, Scripture taken from the King James Version (KJV) by Public Domain. http://bit.ly/28MBFs9 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. |
