PRAYER OF SALVATION
Tell me more about eternal salvation:

The Bible tells us:

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10, KJV) 1

God sent His only Son Jesus to earth to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He lived a sinless life, Holy and righteous, fully God and fully man for 33 years. Until Jesus the Israelites had frequently sacrificed animals to atone for their sins, but it was not lasting.

When Jesus came to earth He taught God’s laws and desires through examples that helped the people understand as it related to their daily lives. These were called parables. Today we might refer to them as stories or illustrations.

As such, He helped paint a picture with His Word of ways people should live and how they could find eternal life in Heaven. Jesus had come to be the Lamb of God sacrificed for the sins of all mankind forever. Because He was the Son of God the blood of Jesus was that powerful.

Jesus lived in human form, died through crucifixion hanging on a cross, was buried, then He rose from the grave ─ alive forevermore. His sacrifice broke the bondage of sin and eternal death for anyone who would choose Him.

You can know the peace and love that comes from choosing Jesus. You can start by saying a simple prayer giving your heart and life to Jesus. It’s a matter of confessing and believing. Then submit your life to follow Him and learn more in His Word the Bible. An example of the prayer would be:

“Heavenly Father, I know that I have not measured up to your laws. My sins have put a barrier between me and You. Even when I have tried to be a “good person” it was not enough. I am really sorry. Please help me to turn away from my past sinful life. Help me turn to You and live with Your help to avoid going back to my old, sinful ways. I believe that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. Jesus, I ask you to come in to my life and to rule and reign in my heart forever. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me hear and obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. I pray this In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

What to do after accepting Jesus:
If you decided receive Jesus today, welcome to the family of God. His Word gives us “next steps” to help us grow closer to Him and make a deep commitment.

Baptism was commanded by Jesus Christ. Through this you symbolize to the world your decision to die to your old ways and rise up as a new creation in Jesus ─ a symbol of being born again into your new life.
Confessing means you tell someone about your decision to walk in faith in Jesus
Make time each day with God. Get in the habit of reading the Bible and ask God to help you understand. Talk with him in prayer. Start with a small time each day and increase as you build a relationship with the One who is available to us continuously ─ 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
Get involved in a good, Bible based Christian fellowship. It helps to have a circle of Christian friends to help us learn and give us encouragement. Ask God to increase your faith as you go deeper in learning His Word and ways. Ask your new friends to share stories of how God has been faithful to them.
Find a Christian church near you. Plug in with all your heart to worship, praise, learn and grow.
Ask God to help you grow in His gifts and use you in a special way for His Kingdom.
